Ruban Kanapathippillai
SVP of Systems and SolutionsFor the past 30 years, Ruban Kanapathippillai has cultivated a profound understanding of business and technical aspects spanning hardware, software, and systems, including Compute, Networking, and Storage. He played a pivotal role as a founding team member in two successful Silicon Valley startups: VxTel (VoIP), which was acquired by Intel for US$550 million, and Virident (Storage), acquired by WDC for $720 million. With over 30 US-granted patents in semiconductor chip and system designs, applications, and algorithms, Ruban's expertise lies in scaling technology and products from conception to enterprise-class implementation, serving as an engineering leader, product architect, and customer technology evangelist.
Ruban is a well-respected veteran of Silicon Valley, having graduated from Stanford University with a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with the highest honor, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Minnesota and a minor in Economics. Originally from the war torn Northern province of Sri Lanka, Ruban escaped the brutal war and migrated to the US via Botswana, Africa.
